Germany has been one of the largest international delegations at the Austin, TX based SXSW festival over the past couple of years. The first digital-only iteration will be no different. As an official partner of SXSW Online 2021, german.innovation will provide a stage for innovators from Germany and will be the main point of contact for German delegates. Here are some of our program highlights:

SXSW Online 2021 Interactive Session will run from March 16 – 20, 2021. Celebrating our long time collaboration, we will kick of this year’s event with our wonderful colleagues from New Dutch Wave and the Dutch delegation on Monday, March 15 on Airmeet. Please register here to attend. The event is free of charge. Only a simply registration via email address is required. We recommend using Chrome or Edge for the Airmeet platform.

Also on March 15, we will celebrate Holger Volland’s new publication “The Future is Smart. Are You?” If you want to join the book release party, co-hosted by Sydnis Atlas and Holger, newly appointed Managing director of brand eins. Please register here to join the Airmeet event.

A key component of SXSW Online 2021 is the Creative Industries Exhibition. “Top creative organizations, innovative industry leaders, small businesses, and emerging startups from all over the world will come together for this online expo,” is stated on the SXSW website. International delegates have the opportunity to get in touch with german.innovation and German delegates at our Featured Exhibitor virtual booth.

On March 17, our partner QVC will host the pitch competition NEXT>IN SUSTAINABILITY. Five startups with a sustainability focus will pitch for a complementary ticket to SXSW 2022: Pottburri, Ourz, Lignopure, air up and Vytal. We continue on March 18 with “!TS Future – Game Changer in Transport & Mobility“. This event is organized by the Digital Hub Logistics (Hamburg) and is leading up to the ITS World Congress in October 2021 in Hamburg, also focused on the future of mobility. In November 2020 during the first digital version of our Ladies Dinner format in Hamburg, we provided strong women with plenty of networking and a delicious three-course meal. Now, we are expanding the format internationally, bringing together experts from Germany and Austin, TX. Together with our partners QVC Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg International, Lufthansa FlyingLab, True Wealth Ventures and Digi.City, we invited 30 experts for this curated “Female Executive Lunch | Dinner in Sustainability” on March 19.

Together with Lufthansa FlyingLab, we will present a series of interviews and talks as well as the finale of the International Startup Pitch on March 20. All formats will be focus on the Future of Travel across a broad spectrum of sectors like clean energy, health and safety, data, inflight entertainment and much more. Stay tuned for more information on the program and the pitch finalists.

Finally, we would like to draw your attention to the SXSW Pitch. It will take place on March 17 and 18 and its winners will be honored on March 20 during an official award ceremony. We are very pleased to announce that out of more than 500 international applications, two teams from Germany made it into this year’s SXSW pitch finale: ConstellR from Freiburg will pitch on March 18 at 2pm CDT (Austin) and Holoride from Munich will present on March 18 at noon CDT (Austin).
